Top 5 Film & Television Apps on iOS in Finland, Q3 2024

During the third quarter of 2024, the Finnish iOS market for Film & Television apps showcased interesting trends, with Max: Stream HBO, TV, & Movies, Disney+, Netflix, Yle Areena, and Amazon Prime Video leading the charge.

Max: Stream HBO, TV, & Movies from WarnerMedia Global Digital Services, LLC showed a consistent increase in weekly revenue, peaking at nearly $44K in late July and again in late September. While downloads decreased from 20K in early July to around 5.8K by the end of September, the app experienced a rise in active users, reaching a peak of approximately 83K mid-September before settling at 71K at the quarter's end.

Disney+ maintained strong weekly revenue, starting at $44.7K in early July and climbing to around $54.9K by late September. Downloads saw a notable spike, particularly towards the end of the quarter, increasing from 1.8K in early July to over 5.3K in late September. Active users hovered around 77K to 83K throughout the quarter, with a slight increase towards the end.

Netflix, while experiencing a steady revenue stream, peaked at approximately $7.5K in late September. Downloads remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 1.6K and 2.3K. Active users showed some variability, starting at 151K in early July and ending at 141K in September.

Yle Areena, a domestic favorite, maintained a consistent download rate, peaking at over 3.1K in early July and late September. Active users showed a slight decline, starting at 20.6K and tapering to 15.8K by the end of the quarter.

Lastly, Amazon Prime Video demonstrated a steady revenue increase, reaching $20.8K by the end of September. Downloads showed a slight decline from 1.9K at the beginning of July to 1.4K at the end of September. Active users remained stable, with numbers ranging from 31K to 33K.
